HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO ORDER MY CAKE?
All my cakes are handmade to order, so having at least two weeks’ notice helps me put the most amount of care into baking your cake just for you. If you want a more custom look or flavor(s), please give me more time so I can get my creative on.
DO YOU DELIVER?
I deliver within the Portland Metro area for a small delivery fee. Please contact me with your location to determine the amount.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?
I do! You can purchase them by the cake size and allow the recipient to pick their favorite flavors.
DO YOU HAVE A BAKERY FULL OF CAKES FOR ME TO POP IN AND PICK ONE UP?
Unfortunately, no. I am a humble home baker and I bake each cake just for you!
WHAT IS YOUR MOST POPULAR CAKE?
My chocolate cake is the most popular. I have heard “this is the best chocolate cake I have ever had,” “chocolate gives me a migraine, but your chocolate cake is completely worth it,” and “the best thing I have ever put in my mouth!” In full disclosure, some of those exclamations were made under the influence of chocolate cake.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CAKE?
I get asked this question more than any other. I honestly don't have a good answer; I love cakes that are delicious and memorable. Especially if they have quality, organic ingredients.
DO YOU OFFER GLUTEN-FREE CAKE?
I do! I’ve had the most success with my chocolate, carrot, and red velvet cakes.
DO PEOPLE EVER CALL YOU “THE CAKE LADY?”
Yes. I am sometimes called the “The Cake Lady” when delivering cake. People are often distracted by cake when they call me “Cake Lady.” I understand. Cake can be distracting. But I answer to “The Cake Lady,” or you can always just call me “Val.”
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF BAKING?
I love the baking part of the baking. The slow process of measuring, mixing and waiting until the batter rises in the oven and the house smells delicious. And then pulling the pans out of the oven and finding a beautiful transformation.
